Frequently Asked Questions
Here are a few things you might have been wondering.
What information do I need to provide?
Just contact us with any details you already have: names, places, dates, and even family stories and oral history. Naturally, the more information you provide, the better, but don’t worry if you have next to nothing to start off! We’ll review everything and offer a research plan tailored to your goals.
Where can you search for records?
We have access to all major US and European based online repositories. In addition to that, we work with private, ecclesiastical and State archives all across Italy. We also research in areas that were historically part of Italy, but are not anymore.
How long does the research process take?
That varies from project to project: clearly, a complete family tree will take longer to create than a single record for Italian citizenship by descent. However, we’ll make sure to keep you updated every step of the way.
I have no clue what kind of records are available: will you describe what you have found?
Yes! We believe that, without explanations of the documentation retrieved, the family tree loses all its worth.
Is the information you find guaranteed to be accurate?
We adhere strictly to the Genealogical Proof of Standard throughout every step of our research process and we cross-check different sources in order to give you the most accurate research possible. So, it is as accurate as records allow.
